The generative AI platform ChatGPT has achieved a significant milestone, as announced by its creator OpenAI on a Wednesday. It can now access real-time data directly from the internet, ensuring users receive up-to-date information.
Previously, ChatGPT's responses relied on a vast database, but it didn't include information beyond August 2021. OpenAI explained in a post on X (formerly Twitter) that ChatGPT can now search the internet to provide users with current and authoritative information, along with direct source links. The software is no longer restricted to data prior to September 2021.
Additionally, OpenAI mentioned that this new feature gives websites the ability to manage how ChatGPT interacts with their content.
